Welcome to Starcross | |
The village of Starcross is situated halfway between Exeter and Dawlish. The A379 runs through Starcross alongside the railway line.
The Exe Estuary is the other side of the railway, and Starcross is opposite Exmouth across the River Exe.
There is a pedestrian ferry that runs between Starcross and Exmouth during the summer months.
Starcross has a large church and two public houses, The Galleon and The Atmospheric Railway Inn.
There are a number of sporting facilities including the Fishing and Cruising Club (in the old Atmospheric Railway building), Oak Meadow Golf Club, lawn green bowling at Starcross and District Bowling Club, a park and a children's play park.
It is about a 25 minute walk to Powderham Castle from Starcross. |
